In 2016 we purchased the MV1, a first-generation Mobility Vehicle. We liked it so much that we bought another: both of which are still a part of our fleet on a daily basis.

Occasionally, we are requested to take wheelchair patients AND bed-confined patients to special events, such as weddings and funerals. Consider MedCare Transportation for all your medical travel needs!

Part of the challenge of remaining open for business 24/7/365 in this part of the world is being able to drive in the snow. The other challenge, of course, is being able to make it out of the parking lot!

Everybody loves enjoying a trip to Camden Yards?! Just because some people have mobility challenges certainly doesn't mean s/he cannot enjoy the same events as others!

This particular van has been officially retired from the MedCare fleet after serving us for nearly 400,000 miles.

The members of the MedCare Team are highly trained to perform all requirements of their jobs. We take personal safety extremely seriously, for our patients AND our team members.

Not only does co-owner Justin Rine handle much of the executive responsibilities (along with Becky), but he also volunteers himself to play the patient during training sessions.

When a patient needs to go to the ER, we urge you to call 911. However, there are times when MedCare Transportation must take our patients to the ER ourselves. In a true emergency, ALWAYS CALL 911.

We first began with these two ambulances. We still have the box ambulance, but we keep it around now only for special circumstances since it's an older unit. But it remains a favorite of most of our drivers at MedCare Transportation.

Our bariatric patient stretchers are wider than the averaage stretcher, giving our heavier patients a safer, more comfortable ride relative to the average stretcher.

Officially retired in 2016, A-110 had nearly 500,000 miles on it and still handled like a dream.

This particular ambulance used to be a 911 ambulance in the New England area. We still use this unit occasionally under specific circumstances.

The good thing about ambulances is, there's plenty of room inside to buy and deliver our own office furniture!

We regularly pick up patients from facilities or hospitals and take them home. We even carry our patients up the steps if that's what is required.

The nation is dealing with an epidemic of obesity for a multitude of reasons. To adapt to the growing epidemic, MedCare Transportation has invested heavily in the additional equipment we need to safely transport patients up to 700 pounds. Sometimes it takes a little longer for us to pick up the heaviest patients, but the extra time sometimes it takes us is spent coordinating the extra staffing requirements for such trips.

Some units load patients utilizing a ramp (as pictured) Other units load with hydraulic lifts. It depends upon the vehicle manufacturer and the aftermarket conversion kits available, but we find that each kind of kit and vehicle have their own specific advantages.

Whenever EMS teams encounter multiple steps, it is usually safest (and easiest) to utilize a special medical contraption called a Stair Chair. Pictured here are two EMTs practicing Stair Chair fundamentals. Training assures you or your loved ones are transitioned to & from the Stair Chair safely & as painlessly as possible.
